This role combines hands-on electrical engineering with technical mentorship, client engagement, and project support. You'll provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from concept and detailed design through commissioning and start-up, while helping develop junior Engineers and contributing to the continuous improvement of engineering standards and best practices.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, collaborating across disciplines, and mentoring the next generation of Engineers without stepping away from hands-on engineering.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
o Lead the electrical engineering design and technical execution of industrial projects from concept through commissioning.
o Prepare, review and approve electrical engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with client requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards.
o Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior Engineers and designers, supporting their technical development and day-to-day project execution.
o Partner with the Discipline Lead - ICE to promote engineering excellence, consistency, and continuous improvement across the team.
o Participate in design reviews, technical troubleshooting, QA/QC activities, and engineering standards development.
o Support project execution through technical input on scope definition, scheduling, and detailed engineering.
o Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, vendors, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
o Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.
o Assist with project estimating and technical proposal development.
o Champion the adoption of new technologies, engineering tools, and industry best practices.
YOU HAVE:
o Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
o Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration is considered a strong asset.
o 7+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience within consulting engineering, EPC/EPCM, industrial automation, or related industrial environments.
o Experience delivering industrial electrical engineering projects from design through commissioning.
o Experience mentoring junior Engineers or providing technical leadership within project teams.
o Valid Canadian Driver's Licence.
o Legally authorized to work full-time in Canada.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:
In this role, you'll become a trusted technical resource for both clients and internal project teams. You'll help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high technical standard while supporting the ongoing growth of Tarco's Electrical Engineering group.
Success also means helping develop junior Engineers through coaching and mentorship, contributing to engineering standards and continuous improvement initiatives, and partnering closely with the Electrical Engineering Manager to strengthen the team's technical capability.
