Manager, Field Services

ABOUT THE JOB:

The Manager, Field Services plays a central role in building, scaling, and managing Tarco’s field services business. This position combines hands-on technical expertise with operational leadership to support field execution, client satisfaction, and business growth.

The Manager, Field Services will actively recruit field personnel, coordinate resources, and ensure the successful delivery of automation, electrical, and instrumentation services. This role requires a candidate with strong field experience, proven PLC/HMI capabilities, and is preferred to be either a Red Seal Electrician or Red Seal Instrumentation and Control Technician.

Approximately 50% travel to field locations is required.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:  

  • Maintain strong communication with organizational leaders and integrate field operations with overall business strategy.

  • Support development and enhancement of technical standards, procedures, and field execution practices.

  • Contribute to the strategic growth of Tarco’s Field Services division, with a direct focus on expanding client offerings and market presence.

  • Recruit, onboard, and coordinate field resources to meet project and client demands.

  • Coordinate with other departments to utilize/share resources as needed to achieve the company’s objectives.

  • Maintain and improve operational efficiency, identifying optimization and innovation opportunities.

  • Assist with operational budgets, forecasting, and tracking field-related performance metrics.

  • Approve field-related A/P, payroll, and operational transactions as required.

  • Support high-quality automation and electrical field services, ensuring alignment with engineering standards.

  • Provide senior-level technical expertise to enhance client confidence and field service execution.

  • Execute field service calls along side other team members

  • Participate in project budgeting, proposals, and estimating for field service scopes. 

YOU HAVE:

  • Red Seal Electrician or Red Seal Instrumentation and Controls Technician (preferred).

  • Additional technical education or engineering technology training considered an asset.

  • Valid Canadian Driver’s License and legal eligibility to work in Canada.

  • Proven field experience in industrial or energy sector environments.

  •   Management or project management experience demonstrating success growing or scaling a field service business.

  • Strong experience with PLC/DCS/RTU programming (Rockwell/AB, GE Fanuc, Siemens, Modicon, etc.).

  • Strong HMI/SCADA programming experience (Rockwell, Schneider, GE, Telvent, etc.).

  • On-site commissioning, troubleshooting, and startup experience.
