Junior Information Technology Specialist (Full Time)
ABOUT THE JOB:
The position of Junior IT Support Specialist is an entry-level role within the Automation Department, designed for an individual seeking to build a strong foundation in systems administration and end-user support. The Junior IT Support Specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining a large, virtualized environment consisting of more than 300 client virtual machines.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Install, configure, and maintain software across 300+ client virtual machines.
Perform system updates, patches, and security configurations as directed.
Troubleshoot and resolve software installation and configuration issues.
Monitor system performance and escalate complex issues to senior IT staff.
Assist in maintaining accurate system documentation and configuration records.
Support end-users with technical issues related to software and system access.
Follow established IT procedures and contribute to process improvements.
Collaborate with the IT team to ensure security best practices are consistently applied.
YOU HAVE:
Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Basic understanding of Windows and/or Linux environments.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar) is an asset.
Computer skills including networking, software installation, driver installation and support.
Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy.
Exposure to IT automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible, SCCM).
Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Prior hands-on experience in a help desk or IT support role.
Strong technical trouble shooting skills.
