We are recruiting for the following position(s):

Intermediate/Senior Civil/Structural Designer (Full-time)

ABOUT THE JOB:

Tarco is recruiting for an Intermediate/Senior Civil/Structural Designer. Reporting to the Civil / Structural Department Lead this position will be in our Calgary office. If you have a successful track record and thrive on brownfield challenges in a fast-paced environment, this is the opportunity for you.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • As a Civil/Structural Designer, you will be part of the structural engineering team delivering projects in the Oil & Gas and Power Industrial sectors. This includes structural steel, reinforced concrete, earthworks, and architectural drawings for buildings, equipment supports and foundations, compressor station structures/foundations, pipe racks, pipe supports, and other miscellaneous structures.

  • Utilize applicable 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD Plant 3D for modelling

  • Prepare conceptual and detailed design drawings in AutoCAD from above 3D software

  • Occasional site visits may be required to remote sites for field measurements

YOU HAVE:

  • Ability to take off quantities from drawings/ 3D models

  • Ability to follow client requirements for CAD/drafting standards

  • Ability to review and comment the shop drawings from the third party

  • Coordinating with other designers and engineers and work with external reference files in AutoCAD

  • Work in a multi-disciplinary environment and co-operate with other team members

  • Prepare drawings in compliance with client CAD standards

  • Take responsibility for own work and perform self-check

  • Ensure accuracy of drawings for plans, sections, details, dimensioning and annotations

  • Take responsibility for cross-discipline squad-check and drawing QA/QC check
