We are recruiting for the following position(s):
Senior Electrical Engineer (Full-time)
About the job:
The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for managing all aspects of electrical design for projects within the organization’s field. The Senior Electrical Engineer provides solutions to technical problems and is responsible for job planning and quality production. This position is accountable for the processes of design, testing and continuous development of electrical equipment, components and systems as assigned. Other engineering functions will fall under the direction of the Electrical Engineering Lead on a project-by-project basis.
What you’ll do:
- Direct and coordinate electrical planning and control system design/drafting implementation ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, and work order requirements.
- Design, develop and test PLC/HMI/DCS/SCADA software and programs.
- Participate in field services/commissioning/startup for industrial control systems.
- Create technical documents (e.g. Control narratives, DBM, shutdown keys, technical reports, documentation, calculations and sketches)
- Create and prepare specifications and associated cost estimates for purchase of materials and equipment.
- Provide expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems.
- Perform electrical studies as assigned.
- Create conceptual designs for assigned projects and oversee the implementation of designs.
You are:
- 10+ years post-degree Engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer registered with APEGA.
- Previous experience in industrial electrical engineering or a related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian electrical standards.
- Previous consulting experience in the natural gas processing industry within a related technical field.
- Experience with Gas Turbines, Pumps and Compressors and related auxiliary systems.
- Practical experience participating in or leading HAZOP, Risk Analysis, Incident investigations.
