Intermediate Automation Technologist/Engineer (Full-time)
About the job:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, particularly within the oil and gas sector. This role involves conceptualizing, designing, and detailing mechanical systems and products, ensuring they meet industry standards and client specifications.
What you’ll do:
- Develop detailed design drawings for mechanical equipment, piping, and systems using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) software.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to design, lay out, and detail components and systems.
- Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs.
- Modify and revise designs to improve operations or to reduce fabrication and installation challenges.
- Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company processes/standards.
- Conduct occasional site visits to help define scope and plan preliminary designs.
You are:
- Technical Diploma or University degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering discipline.
- Minimum of [2-4] years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Plant3D is preferred but can provide training).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of industry standards and design codes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
