We are recruiting for the following position(s):

Intermediate Electrical Engineer (Full-time)

About the job:

The Intermediate Engineer is responsible for participating in all aspects of electrical design for assigned projects.  The Intermediate Engineer provides solutions to technical problems and is responsible for job planning and quality production. This position is accountable for the processes of design, testing and continuous development of electrical equipment, components, and systems.

What you’ll do:

  • Participate in the preparation and planning of projects.
  • Provide designs for cable tray layouts, electrical equipment arrangements, lighting layouts and LV single line diagrams.
  • Provide electrical calculations such as volt-drop, EHT heat loss, illumination level, distribution transformer sizing and panel loading.
  • Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment.
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software such as AutoCAD & MicroStation/PDS.
  • Create technical reports, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
  • Provide expertise and support to project managers and project team, as required.

You are:

  • 5+ years post-degree Engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian electrical standards.
  • Work experience designing HV substations, hydroelectric plants, MV and LV distribution systems, and large electrical systems required.
  • Work experience with fire alarms, lighting and emergency power generation preferred.
