We are recruiting for the following position(s):

Electrical and Instrumentation Construction Estimator (Full-Time)

About the job:

The responsibilities of the Estimator would be to work with the Project Management team to complete and create estimates and bid packages for ongoing and new construction projects. With continued company growth this could lead to a leadership position that guides the estimating team and works closely with project management to exceed expectations and drive customer satisfaction. Job location is in Calgary, AB though remote work may be considered for the right candidate.

What you’ll do:

  • Reviewing specifications, client documentation, and design drawings to determine the total scope of work to be performed.
  • Create, prepare, and coordinate labour and material estimates for Electrical and Instrumentation construction projects using Accubid software.
  • Manage addenda and RFI’s, review material requirements, site expenses, and indirect and overhead costs to be included in the final estimate price.
  • Assemble or assist in assembling fully indexed bid packages when required.
  • Review drawings, estimates, and execution plans internally with project managers and superintendents and externally with clients.
  • Work in support of the field as required, assisting in drawing review, scope review, and changes.
  • Manage time effectively to handle multiple estimates at any given time and achieve bid deadlines
  • Communicate with Suppliers and obtain equipment and material quotations.
  • Build preliminary schedules and calculate manpower loading requirements for the project life cycle.
  • At times, procure materials to manage various electrical projects

You are:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working as an E&I Estimator on industrial and commercial construction projects is an asset.
  • Experience with Accubid estimating software is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel and Word.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and organize electrical drawings, isometric drawings, scopes of work, and specifications
  • Dedicated, motivated, and organized with a strong work ethic to work within customer-imposed deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must to communicate effectively with clients, internal project teams, sub-contractors, and suppliers
  • Candidate should be familiar with work in industrial and light industrial, including oil & gas,
  • Experience with lump sum/fixed price, unit rate, T&M, and design-build estimates.
  • Trade field and Project management background is an asset
